The LAVic online registration portal will open on 18 October 2021.  Athletes must register online at prior to attending our program to ensure that they have insurance cover.  All athletes must be supervised by a parent or guardian that is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (by 26 November 2021, unless an exemption applies).  Proof of vaccination or medical exemption must be provided at the outset of the season.

COVID-19 Protocols

When you join Wangaratta Little Athletics Centre for the 2021/22 Season, you acknowledge that COVID-19 has had a significant impact on the operations of Centre, resulting in a number of changes to the usual operating protocols and event program.  All members of our Centre must abide by all COVID-19 protocols and restrictions including:

  • A parent or guardian must be in direct supervision at all times when their child is at Little Athletics
  • Parents/guardians must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (no later than 26 November), unless they have a medical exemption.  Proof of vaccination/exemption must be provided at the outset of the season
  • The parent/guardian is responsible for supervising children at a sanctioned competition and training activities
  • The presence of parents/guardian is required for the safe conduct of sanctioned Little Athletics activities
  • Physical distancing (>1.5m) must be observed by all attendees at all times (athletes are exempt when training/competing)
  • Spectators who are not required or essential to the conduct of sanctioned activities cannot attend LIttle Athletics
  • Attendees should avoid all contact with others, such as handshaking and giving high fives
  • Face coverings are to be worn by all attendees aged 12 years and over, this includes athletes when not competing or training

2021/22 Membership Fee = $127 per athlete, with a family discount for 2+ children

New Members

Children who haven't been a member of a Little Athletics Centre previously are invited to trial 2 competition days of Little Athletics at the beginning of the season (Week 1 and Week 2), before committing to full membership.  There are no refunds once a membership has been paid, and the two free trial weeks are not discounted - the full membership is payable.  ONce a trial athlete is registered, their results from week 1 and week 2 are manually entered into the ResultsHQ system.

A birth certificate must be sited as proof of age for all new registrations (U6-U16).  Birth certificates can be presented to our Registrar at the Information Tent on Friday night.  Any new members wanting to fast track this process can take a photo of the Birth Certificate and send it as a Message via the @wangaratta20 Facebook page.

Age Groups - Eligibility

Athletes born between 2006 and 2016 are eligible to compete this season.  Athletes born in 2017 cannot register for Little Athletics until they have turned 5.  These new Under 6 athletes will then repeat the U6 program in the next calendar season 2022/23.

Club Uniform

All athletes must wear our Wangaratta Little Athletics Centre singlet or crop top with their official Patch and black shorts.

SInglets and crop tops cost $35.  We also sell black LAVic shorts for $25, but these are not compulsory.  Athletes are welcome to wear any black shorts with their club top.

Uniforms can be purchased from the Information Tent at our Friday night competition and on our first Training night - Friday 29 October 2021 from 4:30pm - 6:30pm at the Bill Eaton Athletics Complex.

Season Dates

The 2021/22 season will run for 15 weeks from Friday 5 November through until Friday 25 March, with a Summer Break during School Holidays.  We have scheduled our program to fit around the modified LAVic Season Calendar.
